BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Just two days after being named All-Patriot League for her contributions on the field, Lehigh women's lacrosse junior Alexandra Ladda was named to the Academic All-League team on Wednesday for her success in the classroom. As one of just four players in the league to be named to both teams, Ladda owns an impressive 3.75 GPA in Marketing, while anchoring the Mountain Hawks' young defense on the field.

Amongst her academic achievements, Ladda posted a perfect 4.0 term in the fall of 2017 while earning a spot on the Dean's List (for a GPA of at least 3.6) several semesters. She has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll while also enjoying worthwhile academic and professional experiences. Last summer, Ladda studied and interned in Prague as part of the Lehigh in Prague program. The second half of the summer, she interned at an advertising agency in Philadelphia, Red Tettemer O'Connell and Partners in its account management department.

Ladda emerged as an anchor of Lehigh's defense in 2019 to earn her first-career All-League honor. She finished third on the team in caused turnovers (16) and draw controls (26) while adding 17 groundballs. Ladda tallied multiple caused turnovers six times and multiple draw controls on eight occasions, serving as one of Lehigh's top cover defenders. Against Army West Point in the regular season, Ladda had two groundballs, two caused turnovers and a career-high tying five draw controls. In the regular-season finale, Ladda recorded two caused turnovers and shut down American leading scorer Emma Vinall, who entered with more than 50 goals on the season. Vinall finished with just a free-position goal.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.

Following Sunday's 12-9 Patriot League Quarterfinal defeat, Lehigh ended its season winning four of its last five games. Standing 0-5 in the Patriot League, the Mountain Hawks fought back to win four straight and qualify for their sixth straight Patriot League Tournament, capped off by a dominant 20-3 win over American on Friday.
