Henig named Patriot League Attacker of Week following two career games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following 16 points (nine goals, seven assists) over two games last week, Lehigh women's lacrosse senior Courtney Henig has been named Patriot League Attacker of the Week, as announced on Monday. It marks Henig's second-career Attacker of the Week honor, after receiving it once as a junior. Henig exploded for seven points at Lafayette Wednesday then nine points at Bucknell Saturday, both Mountain Hawk victories.
On Wednesday, Henig tied a career-high seven points via three goals and four assists in a comeback 16-14 win at Lafayette. Henig had a hand in five of Lehigh's eight second-half goals, including the final two. She scored with 8:43 remaining in the second half, which helped spark the Mountain Hawks' 6-1 run to end the game (turning a 13-10 deficit into a 16-14 win).
Henig went on to post career highs for goals (6) and points (9) at Bucknell Saturday. She had a hand in nine of Lehigh's 13 goals in a 13-10 win, including eight of the final 10 scores. Henig absolutely took over in the second half, scoring four straight goals (the first at 22:33 and the last at 8:00) to turn a slim 8-7 lead into a 12-7 advantage.
For the season, Henig is second on the Mountain Hawks with 42 points behind 17 goals and a team-high 25 assists. Her 25 assists are tied for seventh in program history for a single season and 84 career assists are second in program history.
Meanwhile, junior Sondra Dickey was also recognized on Monday among the honorable mentions honorees. Over two games, she tallied five goals, three assists, seven groundballs, five caused turnovers and 13 draw controls.
The Mountain Hawks will return home on Friday to host American at 3 p.m. A win would clinch Lehigh the No. 6 seed in the Patriot League Tournament.
