BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The postseason has arrived for Lehigh men's tennis as the Mountain Hawks will kick off the Patriot League Tournament on Friday with a quarterfinal matchup against Colgate. Army will host the Patriot League Tournament at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center/Malek Tennis Courts at West Point, N.Y.

Lehigh enters the Patriot League Tournament at 12-7 overall and 5-2 in the Patriot League and earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament, behind Navy and Army, the two teams to defeat the Mountain Hawks in league play. The Mountain Hawks closed out the regular season with two Patriot League wins over the weekend as Lehigh defeated Lafayette 7-0 on Saturday and then won 4-2 at Bucknell on Sunday.

Freshman Zack Elliott led the way for the Mountain Hawks, going 4-0 combined in doubles and singles action over the weekend. Elliott was named Patriot League Player of the Week on Tuesday after bumping up to the No. 1 position to earn a win against Lafayette and then clinching the Bucknell match with a three-set win at No. 2. He leads the Mountain Hawks in both doubles (12) and singles (10) wins and has won five straight doubles matches.

Lehigh's singles lineup is expected to feature sophomore Harry Wang at the top spot, while upperclassmen will provide depth at the bottom four positions with junior Jack Martin-Dyer at No. 3 and seniors Bryant Born, George Cooper and Chris Auteri at the bottom three spots.

Wang and Elliott have been strong as Lehigh's top doubles team, with Auteri and Martin-Dyer teaming at No. 2 and Cooper and sophomore Jacob Edelchik the likely No. 3 team.

Lehigh's quarterfinal opponent, No. 6 seed Colgate, enters the postseason at 7-13 overall. The Raiders finished 2-3 in the league and have dropped their last three matches, losing to Lehigh, Bucknell and Boston University. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Raiders 5-2 in Syracuse, N.Y. on March 31. Lehigh won 2-of-3 doubles matches and added four singles wins, with Edelchik clinching the match at No. 5.

The Mountain Hawks' lone Patriot League Tournament title came in 2013. Lehigh will be looking to advance past the quarterfinal round for the first time since 2016.

The Patriot League Tournament begins Thursday afternoon with the opening round match between No. 8 Lafayette and No. 9 Holy Cross. Lehigh and Colgate will play in the third quarterfinal on Friday, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Top seed Navy will face the Lafayette-Holy Cross winner in Friday's first quarterfinal at 8:30 a.m. Bucknell will follow against Boston University in a 4-5 matchup. The Lehigh-Colgate match will be followed by No. 2 Army West Point and No. 7 Loyola.

Saturday's semifinals are set for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the Mountain Hawks playing in the 2 p.m. match against the Army-Loyola winner should Lehigh beat Colgate. The championship match is set for Sunday at noon.
