BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team fell to the Drexel Dragons 5-1 Sunday afternoon at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.
Lehigh drops to 0-2 while Drexel moves to 3-4 with the win.
"It was a tough loss today. I'm proud of the team with how they displayed a lot of toughness against a good Drexel team. Doubles were played at a high level at all three spots and Grace got a great win at the 4 singles spot," said head coach Sarah Hendrix after the match.
Although dropping the doubles point to Drexel 2-1, the Mountain Hawks had strong chances to possibly sweep, as the two matches they lost went to tie-breakers.
Sophomore Casey Zhong and junior Leigh Friedman won the lone doubles match for the Brown and White in a close 7-5 match.
At the No. 4 singles was senior Grace Lin, who got her first victory, winning in two sets 6-4, 7-5.
The Mountain Hawks are back in action on February 16 as they host the Seawolves of Stony Brook.
