BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a brief hiccup at Rider last Saturday, the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team will compete against Loyola Maryland on Saturday inside Jacobs Pool. The diving portion will begin at 11:00 a.m., while the swimming will follow suit.

Last time out, the men's team wrapped up a busy weekend at Rider. Against the Broncos, the Mountain Hawks fell, 180-118. Despite the loss, Lehigh still managed to have a good weekend, as the Brown and White defeated West Chester and Bloomsburg in a tri-meet last Friday.

"We were upset a little that we lost to Rider," claimed head coach Rob Herb "The men were tired though, it was a brutal weekend in terms of traveling and competition. Our guys were so competitive, they pushed hard in the front but sacrificed a little at the end."

With Walker Wilson and Glenn Lasco leading the way, the Mountain Hawks have shot out of the gates early in the season, as they have piled on win after win in multiple events. Along with Walker and Lasco, Greg Giannella and Caleb Eberly joined forces as the four men have formed a strong 400 freestyle relay team.

This week, Collin Hanlon was awarded honorable mention by the Patriot League. Throughout last weekend, the junior tallied three individual wins in the 200 IM (1:56.83), 200 back (2:10.51) and the 1000 free (9:49.29).

"In the last two meets, Collin has made a strong surge forward. He's been growing as an athlete and as a leader. It's extremely motivating for him, as he's put in a lot of work." added Herb.

Andrew Sukach picked up his first two collegiate wins in the 200 butterfly, while Nico Lastauskas earned a win in the 1000 free (9:52.93).

Lehigh has had the upper hand against Loyola in the all-time series. Coming into Saturday, the Mountain Hawks are 6-0 against the Greyhounds. Last year, Lehigh defeated Loyola, 161-139.

"The things I like about this team is that we are really competitive," Herb stated. "The toughness that our men have is remarkable, they counter. They're all keyed in on what is going on and what has to be done."

Up next, Lehigh will take a few weeks off and return on Friday, Nov. 22 against rival Lafayette.
