1/22/2019 4:30:00 PM | Women's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's basketball team will continue its stretch of home games as the Colgate Raiders come to Stabler Arena Wednesday for a 6 p.m. start.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a tough loss to American University where the Eagles won 61-53 to extend Lehigh's losing streak to three-straight. After a pair of slow first quarter performances against Boston University and Bucknell where the Mountain Hawks scored five points and went 1-for-26 from the field, Lehigh scored 14 points against the Eagles to begin the contest.
Although on a three-game losing skid, the defense from the Mountain Hawks continues to help keep them in games, as the Brown and White currently have the 25th best scoring defense in the nation with an average of 56.2 points scored against per game. Lehigh is also ranked in the top-100 for the fewest fouls committed (77th), rebound margin (80th), field-goal percentage defense (91st), scoring margin (98th) and 3-pointer defense (95th).
Senior Hailey Pascoe continues her hunt for 100 career 3-pointers made after connecting on a 3-point shot at the top of the key late in the game against American. Pascoe has 98 and looks to become just the ninth player in Lehigh women's basketball to record 100 made 3-pointers. Pascoe is also on a nine-game streak of making at least one 3-pointer.
Junior Camryn Buhr continues to lead the Mountain Hawks in scoring with 11.8 points per game this season along with leading the Brown and White in rebounding with 6.4 per game. Junior Hannah Hedstrom is the active leader for Lehigh in assists with 2.7 per game while freshman Megan Walker leads the Mountain Hawks in steals per game with 2.0.
Coming into Wednesday, Colgate comes in with a 7-9 overall record and a 3-3 league record, the Raiders will look to continue the trend of winning every other league game, as they were defeated by Bucknell 90-62 in their most recent contest. Against Bucknell, Keelah Dixon led the Raiders with 15 points and two rebounds. Mylah Chandler rounded out the double-figure scorers for Colgate with 12 points and three rebounds.
The Raiders will look to Rachel Thomas, who is leading Colgate in numerous categories so far this season. As of now, Thomas leads the Raiders in points per game with 11.8, assists per game with 2.8, rebounds per game with 7.8 and steals per game with 2.3.
This will be the 67th meeting between these two schools, with the Mountain Hawks holding a 39-27 advantage over the Raiders.
