Lehigh Falls in Patriot League Quarterfinals

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's tennis season came to an end on Friday as the fourth-seeded Mountain Hawks lost, 4-1, to fifth-seeded Boston University in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Championship. Lehigh finishes the season with a record of 12-9, while the Terriers improve to 14-11 and will face No. 1 seed Navy on Saturday in the Patriot League Semifinals.
The Mountain Hawks began the match by clinching the doubles point before Boston U came roaring back, winning the first four singles matches to clinch the victory.
The Terriers took an early lead in doubles play after notching a 6-2 victory at the first flight. Lehigh evened things up after Christopher Auteri and Bryant Born scored a 7-6 victory at the third flight. Jack Petersen and George Cooper clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 victory over Satyajit Simhadri and Pete Siozios at the second flight.
Auteri and Born finished the season with a 3-0 record together. Auteri compiled a 5-9 record in doubles play, while Born finished 11-10 and tied for the team lead in doubles wins.
Cooper and Petersen also ended the season with a 3-0 record together in doubles play. Cooper compiled an overall record of 9-6, while Petersen tied Born for the most wins with an 11-10 mark.
Petersen ends his career on a six-match win streak in singles play to finish with an overall record of 47-33. After finishing his doubles career on a three-match win streak, the senior caps off his career with an overall mark 39-38.
Auteri lead the team with 12 wins in singles, Born and Petersen tied for second with 11 and Jacob Edelchik ranked third with 10 singles victories. Bron, Edelchik and Petersen finished in a three-way tie for the team lead in doubles wins with 11 on the season.
