Lambinus announces spring women’s soccer schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh head women's soccer coach Eric Lambinus announced the Mountain Hawks' spring schedule on Thursday, which includes five games, four at home, against a variety of strong competition. Lehigh will face Rider, NJIT, La Salle, Kutztown and Messiah College, all in the month of April. The spring schedule begins on Apr. 3 at Rider.
"We are really excited about our 2018 spring schedule," said Lehigh head coach Eric Lambinus. "We are fortunate to play four of the games at home and playing all five in April will replicate the challenge of our fall schedule. With the quality of our opponents, our spring games will challenge our returning players and allow the coaching staff to evaluate the team going into the fall season."
Lehigh opens the spring at Rider on Tuesday, Apr. 3 at 7 p.m. before hosting NJIT on Saturday, Apr. 7 at 5 p.m. The Mountain Hawks then host defending Atlantic 10 Champion La Salle on Friday, Apr. 13 (6 p.m.) and Kutztown on Saturday, Apr. 21 (6 p.m.). The Explorers finished last season 17-4-2 and 9-0-1 in the A-10. Lehigh wraps up the spring on Saturday, Apr. 28 as the LUWS Alumnae will square off against each other in an 11 a.m. game before the current Mountain Hawks face Messiah College at 1 p.m.
The Mountain Hawks wrapped up the 2017 season with a 9-5-4 record following a heartbreaking Patriot League Quarterfinal defeat at Colgate in overtime. Miller tied a career-high nine saves in the contest. The 2017 season saw plenty of highlights, including a 27-day stretch without a loss (from Sept. 3 to Sept. 30), a weekend sweep of Big East opponents Villanova and St. John's and winning four-of-five games to close out the regular season. Five Mountain Hawks earned All-Patriot League recognition, most since they also had five honorees during Lehigh's 2010 league championship campaign.
