BALTIMORE – The Lehigh women's swimming and diving team picked up its fourth straight win on Saturday, and second over a Patriot League opponent, defeating Loyola 175.5-124.5 to improve to 4-1 on the young season. Sophomore Ann Foley helped lead the Mountain Hawks, posting two individual victories and a relay win.
Â
Foley began the day by leading four Mountain Hawks who finished first through fourth in the 200 yard freestyle, posting a time of 1:53.34. She went on to finish first in the 100 yard freestyle (52.52 seconds) and be part of the 400 yard freestyle relay team that was victorious (3:33.59). She was joined on the relay by senior Courtney Ferreira, freshman Grace Rogowski and junior Payton Miles.
Â
Miles had previously won the 50 yard freestyle (24.00 seconds) while Ferreira captured first in the 200 yard IM (2:09.38).
Â
Other individual wins included sophomore Malia Wolf in the 200 yard butterfly (2:08.67) and freshman Carly Rutledge in the 500 yard freestyle (5:07.76). The Mountain Hawks took first in both diving events as well, with senior Rayna Smilowitz winning the three meter (217.94) and sophomore Megan Fennell winning the one meter (274.27).
Â
"The divers ruled the day," said head coach Rob Herb. "We crushed the back half of the meet. We still have holes we'll work on, but we did what we needed to do to win."
Â
The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Big Al Invitational at Princeton.
