Lehigh Set to Host 26th Annual Covert Classic this Saturday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh track and field programs will welcome 25 visiting schools to Rauch Fieldhouse on Saturday for the team's final home meet of the indoor season.
The 26th annual John Covert Classic will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with the field events. Track events will get underway an hour later at 10:30 with the women's 5,000m. The meet will run throughout the afternoon with the men's 4x800 scheduled to be the final event of the day at 5:40 p.m. A complete list of events and their scheduled start times, as well as other meet information is available here, and live results will be posted as they become official at mitchelltiming.com.
Participating Teams:
CCNY, Delaware Valley, DeSales, East Stroudsburg, Eastern, Georgian Court, Gettysburg, King's, La Salle, Lafayette, Lincoln (Pa.), Montclair State, Moravian, Mount St. Mary (N.Y.), Muhlenberg, PSU-Brandywine, Rowan, Rutgers-Newark, Scranton, Shippensburg, Stevens Institute, Stockton, TCNJ, Ursinus, West Chester
This weekend marks the third straight weekend that the Mountain Hawks will compete at home. Lehigh's women won 14 of 17 events at last weekend's dual meet against Lafayette while the men captured 12 out of 17 to complete the sweep of the rival Leopards. Trevor Knowles tied the school record in the men's 60 meter hurdles (8.21) while Kaitlyn Toman broke her own school benchmark in the pole vault (3.75m). At the Angry Birds Challenge on January 13, both Lehigh teams finished runner-up as Jeffrey Kirshenbaum picked up one of four Lehigh victories by running the fastest 5,000m time this season in the Patriot League. On the women's side, Jordan Otto won the high jump (PR-1.70m) and Toman vaulted 3.67m for a then-school record.
