
Lehigh Baseball Travels to Holy Cross for Road League Series

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks make their first Patriot League road trip of the season with a trek to Worcester, Mass. to face Holy Cross in a four-game series. Saturday's doubleheader will begin a 2 p.m. and Sunday's twin bill well get underway at 1 p.m. Live stats will be provided for all four games on the weekend.
Lehigh (9-17, 1-3) is looking to shake off a three-game skid after dropping three out of four games to Bucknell in last weekend's series and falling in a midweek contest at NYIT. The Mountain Hawks, picked in a tie for third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, are currently one of two teams with a league record below .500 on the season.
The Crusaders (8-17, 2-2) also opened league play last weekend and took the first and last games of a four-game set with Navy. Picked as the Patriot League preseason favorite, Holy Cross is tied with Navy in the league standings with a 2-2 record.
The Mountain Hawks and Crusaders combined to place five players on the 12-member Preseason All-Patriot League Team. Holy Cross also nabbed the league's preseason Player of the Year, Anthony Critelli, and Pitcher of the Year, Brendan King.
Critelli ranks fourth in the league with a .354 batting average with a league-leading .635 slugging percentage and is tied with teammate Cam O'Neil for the league lead with seven home runs. Jacen Nalesnik, Lehigh's preseason league pick, is batting .333 and ranks third in the league with a .608 slugging percentage and is second in home runs with six.
Lehigh starter Levi Stoudt has proven to be one of the top arms in the Patriot League in just his first season as he owns a league-leading 2.27 earned-run average. The freshman ranks first in the league in runs (13) and earned runs (8) allowed, second in walks allowed (9), fourth in hits allowed (34), sixth in strikeouts (29) and seventh in opponent batting average (.266). Stoudt is 2-3 in seven starts this season.
King, the preseason favorite as the league's top pitcher, ranks eighth in the league with a 4.50 ERA, while his 46.0 innings pitched rank second. King owns a league-best .194 opposing batting average, while ranking third in the league in hits allowed (33) and eighth in strikeouts (26). King is 1-3 in seven starts on the year.
The Mountain Hawks are batting .254 as a team and slugging .419 on 361 total bases, including a league-best 27 home runs. The Crusaders are hitting a collective .251 and slugging .351 on a league-low 273 total bases with 14 home runs. LU ranks in the middle of the pack with 141 total runs scored and 24 stolen bases. Holy Cross is last in the league with 106 runs scored and three stolen bases on just eight attempts.
Lehigh owns a team fielding percentage of .959 with 38 errors, while Holy Cross sports a .962 fielding percentage with a league-low 33 errors. The Mountain Hawks own a 5.15 team ERA, while giving up 5.96 runs per game. The Crusaders have a team ERA of 5.82 and are allowing 6.38 runs per game.
