Lehigh Women Soar Over Lafayette on Senior Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks finished out their Patriot League slate on Monday afternoon with a dominating 6-1 victory over rival Lafayette on Senior Day at the Ulrich Courts.
Lehigh finishes with a league record of 4-3 and improves to 8-8 overall, while the Leopards fall to 1-6 in league play and 6-14 in their overall slate. The victory for the Mountain Hawks extends their long-standing win streak over Lafayette which began in the 2002 season.
Monday's match started with a Lehigh sweep at doubles. The veteran pairing of Christina Auyeung and Jamie Campisi made quick work at the top flight with a 6-0 victory to finish the season with a 4-1 Patriot League record together. The senior duo of Cassidy Cruz and Nina Larraza teamed up for the first time this season and came out victorious with a 6-3 win. Sibel Can and Kirstin Godau also teamed up for the first time this season and sealed the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win at the second flight.
Campisi also made quick work of her match in the singles competition as the senior rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Gabby Montes at the sixth flight. The senior improves to 10-5 overall with a 5-1 mark in league play.
Fellow senior Cruz also captured victory with ease as she posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lauren Tracy at the fifth flight. Cruz is now 9-7 on the season and capped league play with a 5-2 mark.
Can also captured her 10th win of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at second singles. The freshman is 10-6 overall and finished 5-2 in league play. Auyeung improved her team-leading wins total to 11 with her 6-1, 6-0 victory at the top singles flight. The junior is now 11-4 overall and finished 5-1 in the league.
Grace Lin closed out the match with one last victory for Lehigh as she prevailed in a two-set battle at the third flight. Lin is now 6-9 overall this season and finished league play with a 4-2 record.
Lehigh will close the regular season on Saturday with a road trip to La Salle. First serve is set for 12 p.m.
