WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Mountain Hawks suffered their second setback in Patriot League play in as many days with a 4-1 loss to Boston University on Friday at Army's Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
The Terriers improve their overall record to 8-9 on the season and remain undefeated in league play with a record of 3-0. Coming off a three-match Patriot League win streak to start the week, Lehigh is now 3-3 in the league and 7-8 overall following back-to-back losses to the league's last two unbeaten teams at the end of the week.
Boston recorded the necessary two victories in the doubles competition, including a 6-4 victory at the third flight, to clinch the team point heading into singles.
Cassidy Cruz put Lehigh on the board and avoided a shutout with a two-set victory over Sophia Kryloff at the fifth flight. The senior got back in the win column to improve her record to 8-7 overall and 4-2 in league play.
The Terriers chalked up two-set victories at the second, third and fourth flights to clinch the match and force play to suspended at the first and sixth flights.
Lehigh will resume play in a home dual on Monday against archrival Lafayette to close out the Patriot League slate. The Rivalry will get underway at 3:30 p.m.
