BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's basketball team will hit the road on Wednesday evening to take on Bucknell, who enters the game tied for first place in the Patriot League, despite dropping its last two games. The Mountain Hawks enter having won two of their last four games and are coming off a 70-58 loss to American on Saturday. The defeat was just the second all season for Lehigh when leading at halftime.
Bucknell's two straight losses followed its best start in program history at 17-3, which included a program record 12-game winning streak and 18 consecutive regular season wins in Patriot League play. The Bison are 9-0 on their home floor this season, and previously defeated Lehigh at Stabler Arena back on January 11 by a score of 77-58. In that game, Claire DeBoer (20), Kyi English (16), Sune Swart (11) and Kate Walker (10 pts, 9 rbs) all scored in double figures to help Bucknell shoot 46.8 percent and outscore Lehigh 40-24 in the paint and 20-4 in points off turnovers.
Over the last five games, Lehigh has received notable contributions from junior Bernadette Devaney, who is 12-of-19 from three-point range over that stretch, and Hailey Pascoe who is shooting 53.1 percent from the field in the last seven games. Freshman Camryn Buhr has scored in double figures in four of the last five contests, and freshman Hannah Hedstrom has set career-highs in rebounds in each of the last two games. Junior Quinci Mann, who netted a career-high 26 points last week vs. Loyola, enters Wednesday just 11 points shy of 1,000 for her career.
IF LEHIGH BEATS BUCKNELL
- Lehigh would earn at least a split of the season series against Bucknell for the seventh time in the last nine seasons.
ALL-TIME VS. BUCKNELL
Meeting for the 81st time in program history, Lehigh holds a 42-38 record in the all-time series against the Bison.
Bucknell has won eight of the last 11 matchups between the two schools dating back through the 2011-12 season, which followed a streak of 10 straight wins by Lehigh from 2008-2012. Over the last 11 games, two of Lehigh's three wins over the Bison have come at Stabler Arena. The last 11 games played between the two have been decided by an average of 13.3 points, with Lehigh winning its three games by an average of 14.3 points. Over the same span, the Bison have outscored Lehigh by an average of 65.6-61.5.
Last season, Bucknell swept the season series with a come-from-behind 80-77 win overtime win at Sojka Pavilion and a 67-54 win at Stabler Arena. Quinci Mann led Lehigh with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting in the overtime defeat, Bernadette Devaney scored a then-career-high 11 points and Lexi Martins had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
Departed seniors Elizabeth Sharlow (13 pts) and Kerry Kinek (11 pts) led Lehigh in the Feb 10 game at Stabler, while Claire DeBoer led Bucknell's returners with 23 points on Jan. 13, and 15 points on Feb. 10.
SCOUTING THE BISON
Coming off a school-record 25 wins last season, preseason favorite Bucknell enters Wednesday's game on a two-game losing streak. Bucknell is 17-5 overall, and 9-2 in the Patriot League where they find themselves in a first place tie with Navy. Bucknell dropped both of their games on the road last week to American 59-47 and Holy Cross 63-51.
Bucknell has the third highest scoring margin in league play at 8.0. The team's pair of 12-point defeats were their first two losses in league play, but the team remains in first place because of their three point win over Navy back on Dec. 30. Five of the team's nine league wins have been decided by six points or less.
Back on Jan. 11 at Stabler Arena, Claire DeBoer (20), Kyi English (16), Sune Swart (11) and Kate Walker (10 pts, 9 rbs) all scored in double figures to help Bucknell shoot 46.8 percent and outscore Lehigh 40-24 in the paint and 20-4 in points off turnovers.
Bucknell finds itself fourth in the league in scoring with 65.4 ppg and first in scoring defense by allowing a league low 57.6 ppg. The Bison also rank first in several major categories including rebounding margin ( 8.4), free throw pct. (76.6), and are holding opponents to just 36.2 shooting from the field. INCHING CLOSER TO THE MILESTONE
Quinci Mann enters Wednesday's game with 989 career points, just 11 shy of becoming the 19th player in program history to reach 1,000 points for her career. She is averaging 15.6 points per game this season, good enough for third place in the Patriot League.

She is the only freshman ranked in the top 10 overall and is tied for the most assists in one game this season: nine against Delaware State on Nov. 16.
BIG POINTS FROM PASCOE
Sophomore Hailey Pascoe has been hot from downtown over the last seven games, shooting 53.1 percent (17-for-32), including 55.6 percent (10-for-18) over the last five games. She has tied her career-high with four made threes twice during that span against Holy Cross and Loyola.
