Mountain Hawks Complete Weekend Sweep with Third-Straight Win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks completed the weekend sweep at home with a win over Saint Francis on Sunday with their third-straight 6-1 victory of the season. Lehigh moves above the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 3-2 record, while the Red Flash fall to 3-7.
Christina Auyeung and Jamie Campisi clinched the doubles point for Lehigh with a 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles after Cassidy Cruz and Grace Lin won by default at No. 3 singles. Auyeung and Campisi improve to 3-1 on the season, while Cruz and Lin move to 2-3. The freshmen pairing of Sibel Can and Leigh Friedman picked up their second victory of the weekend with at 7-6(3) victory at No. 2 doubles to improve to 3-2 on the season.
The Mountain Hawks started with leg up in the singles competition as Campisi earned a victory by default at No. 6 singles. Sibel Can kept the wins coming as she got back in the win column with 6-2, 6-2 victory over Laura Gutierrez at No. 2 singles to improve to 3-2 on the season.
The Red Flash broke the slump with a victory at No. 3 singles, but Auyeung clinched the match for Lehigh with her 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Lucia Seigford at No. 1 singles. Auyeung improves her team-leading record to 4-1 on the season with her second win of the weekend.
Cruz and Briana Maravich also notched their second wins of the weekend with victories on Sunday. Cruz handled a two-set victory over Kathryn Dunleavy at No. 5 singles, while Maravich played to a three-set triumph over Raksha Bode at the fourth spot.
The Mountain Hawks closeout their five-match season opening home stand next Sunday against Delaware. The match is slated to begin at 12 p.m. inside the Lewis Tennis Center.
