BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh returns from its bye week to kick off the stretch run against Fordham Saturday at Jack Coffey Field. The Mountain Hawks improved to 2-0 in Patriot League play with a 54-35 win over Georgetown in their last game before the bye. Senior wide receiver Troy Pelletier enjoyed a record-setting day, catching a school-record 16 passes for 197 yards and four touchdowns, and becoming Lehigh's career leader in receiving yardage, while also tying the league record for career touchdown catches.

An improved rushing attack in Lehigh's last two games has allowed the Mountain Hawks to be more balanced offensively while contributing to the team's 2-0 start in league play. In its first five games, Lehigh averaged just 97 rushing yards per game and three yards per carry. In its last two, Lehigh has averaged 228 yards and 5.4 per carry.  Since the start of the 2015 Patriot League season, Lehigh has rushed for 200-plus yards in 10 of 14 league games. The Mountain Hawks' 349 rushing yards versus Fordham last year marked Lehigh's highest single-game total in the Andy Coen era.

Third down conversions are another area in which Lehigh has shown improvement since the start of Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks' offense converted at just 37 percent through their first five games but are 11-for-21 (52%) on third downs over their last two games. Lehigh has also improved on the defensive side of the ball. Opponents were converting against the Mountain Hawks at a 52 percent rate through five games but are just 6-for-23 (26%) in the last two games. Lehigh held Georgetown to just 1-for-12 on third downs last time out.

Lehigh's win over Georgetown was a memorable one for senior wide receiver Troy Pelletier, who set two school records and tied a Patriot League record in Lehigh's 54-35 triumph. Pelletier, who broke Lehigh's career receptions record at Monmouth, broke the career receiving yardage record of 3,662 previously held by Rennie Benn with his 24-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. He finished with 16 catches against the Hoyas, breaking his own school and league mark, while his four touchdown receptions tied a league mark and gave him 34 for his career, tying a league record.

Fordham snapped a five-game losing streak with a 17-9 win at Georgetown. The Rams are now 2-6 overall and 1-2 in Patriot League play with league losses to Lafayette and Colgate. Fordham has played its first three league games on the road and now returns home for its final three games. Playing without All-America running back Chase Edmonds and quarterback Kevin Anderson as well as three top receivers, the Rams got 13 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown from wide receiver Austin Longi, while Andrew Mevis kicked three field goals. The Rams held Georgetown to just 246 yards of offense.

Edmonds has been in and out of Fordham's lineup this season, but needs just eight yards to break the Patriot League career rushing record of 5,621, held by Colgate's Jordan Scott. Glenn Cunningham leads the Fordham defense with 57 tackles, but like many of the Rams' top offensive weapons, he did not play in the win at Georgetown.

Lehigh has played Fordham 29 previous times with the Mountain Hawks winning 24 of those meetings. Lehigh's win at Goodman Stadium last season snapped a three-game win streak for the Rams. These two teams met for the first time in 1923 then did not meet again until 1989.

Lehigh owns a 5-6 record in games following its bye week under Andy Coen. The Mountain Hawks lost their first four post-bye games under Coen (2006-09), then won four straight. Last year's win at Lafayette snapped a two-game losing streak for Lehigh in games following its bye week.
