WASHINGTON D.C. - The Lehigh women's basketball team will head to the Washington D.C. metro area on Saturday afternoon for a Patriot League showdown at American. The Mountain Hawks (5-9, 0-3 PL) are in search for their first league win of the season, after dropping their first three league games as part of a six-game losing streak. American (5-9, 2-1 PL) is also coming off a loss in its last game on Thursday evening in overtime at Bucknell.

Junior Quinci Mann leads the Mountain Hawks with 17.3 points per game, good enough for second in the PL. She has scored in double figures in 11 games this season, and scored 20 points in seven contests thus far. Mann scored a team-high 16 points and set a new career-high with six rebounds in Thursday's loss at Loyola. Freshman Gena Grundhoffer turned in a strong effort with 14 points and six rebounds and was 8-for-9 from the free throw line. Freshman Hannah Hedstrom scored 10 points to go with two assists. Junior Taylor Campbell had six points and three rebounds, and freshman Cameryn Benz added five points, four rebounds and one assist.

American took preseason PL favorite Bucknell to overtime on the road Thursday night before falling 73-67. Emily Kinneston led the way for American with 26 points on 12-of-20 from the field, and Lauren Crisler also scored in double figures with 13 points and a team-best nine rebounds.

IF LEHIGH BEATS AMERICAN
-      Lehigh would snap its six game losing streak, its longest in 11 years.
-      Lehigh would earn its second win in a row over American, and their second road win of the season.

ALL-TIME VS. AMERICAN
The Mountain Hawks hold a 13-26 record all-time against American. Lehigh got the better of the Eagles the last time the two teams faced off on Feb. 6, 2016 in Washington, where Quinci Mann (16 pts) and Bernadette Devaney (11 pts) helped lead Lehigh to a 61-52 victory. Departed senior Kerry Kinek also scored in double figures with 12 points and seven rebounds.

The win last February was the first win in six tries for Lehigh against American, who overall has won 10 of the last 12 matchups dating back to Feb. 2011. This streak includes a 66-50 win for top-ranked American in the Patriot League Championship game in March 2015.

Both of Lehigh's wins versus American over the last 12 games have come at Bender Arena. Lehigh has not beaten American at home at Stabler Arena since the 2010 PL Championship game.

Since the 2012-13 season, American has averaged 65 points in their games against Lehigh, to LU's 61 points per game. Over the same span, the combined average margin of victory has been 9.2 points.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
American enters Saturday's contest with a 5-9 overall record, and 2-1 in Patriot League play. The Eagles are coming off a tough 73-67 overtime loss at preseason favorite Bucknell on Thursday night. Junior Emily Kinneston led the way for American with a career-high 26 points and senior Lauren Crisler also scored in double digits with 13 points and pulled in nine rebounds.

The Eagles began league play with a pair of wins at Loyola on Dec. 30 (60-45) and at home vs. Colgate on Jan. 2 (68-57).

American ranks sixth in the Patriot League thus far with 60.1 ppg and is sixth in points allowed (62.2 ppg). The Eagles soar above the rest of the league with a field goal percentage of 42.9 percent. The team also ranks fourth in 3FG% at 31.7 percent and is tops in the league by holding opponents to 26.1 percent from three-point range. On the rebounding front, they rank fourth with a rebounding margin of -1.4.

Individually, Kinneston leads the Eagles and is 10th in the PL with 11.6 ppg. Crisler is the team's leading rebounder with an average of 5.5 rpg. Cecily Karl also averages double figures in points with 10.2, while Kaitlyn Lewis holds the team lead with a 50 percent field goal pct., just a few ticks better than Crisler's 49.6 FG pct.

In the PL preseason poll, American was tabbed fifth while being one of five teams to receive a first place vote. The Eagles finished two points behind fourth place Holy Cross and six points ahead of sixth place Navy.

SLIDE HITS SIX
Lehigh is in the midst of its longest losing streak since the team was on a seven game skid during the 2005-06 season. Lehigh's longest losing streak last season was three games.

THE BIG QUARTER
Lehigh is the only team in the Patriot League to have allowed 30 points in a single quarter this season. This feat that has happened twice - the first quarter at Duquesne on Nov. 13 (30), and the fourth quarter against Boston University on Jan. 4 (37).
On the flip side, three Patriot League teams have scored 30 in a quarter this season: American (30) vs. UMBC, Army West Point (32) vs. Mercy, and Boston University (37) at Lehigh.

ONE THORNE IN THEIR SIDE
The Mountain Hawks have allowed a 26 point scorer in three of their last four games in Cal's Kristine Anigwe (26), Army's Madison Hovren (28) and BU's Nia Irving (26).
