Henderson Collects Weekly Honor from the Patriot League

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Maura Henderson of the Lehigh women's track and field team has been honored by the Patriot League as the Female Track Athlete of the Week, after her performance at Friday's Wagner College Invitational.

Henderson finished second in the mile run with a time of 5:02.09, a new personal best by 11.27 seconds. She was the highest-placing collegiate runner in the race that featured 71 finishers. The time is also the 44th fastest mile in the nation so far this season.

This is the eighth time through the first three weeks of the season that a Lehigh athlete has garnered a weekly league award, the most so far of any PL school. It marks the first time this season someone from Lehigh had been named a Track Athlete of the Week.

The Mountain Hawks will compete at home this Saturday, Jan. 14 in the Angry Birds Challenge at Rauch Fieldhouse.
