BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a thrilling 8-7 win at No. 20 Boston University, the Lehigh men's lacrosse team returns home to host No. 13/15 Loyola on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game marks the first of two straight home contests in Goodman Stadium, the home of Lehigh football. The Mountain Hawks will be playing their fourth straight nationally-ranked opponent and vying for their second straight win over a ranked squad.

Saturday is a Summit Series game as tickets are just five dollars for the general public while Lehigh students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their Lehigh ID. There will be a mid-line shot contest at halftime and fans can enter by checking into Saturday's game on the Mountain Hawk Rewards App.

Saturday's contest will be televised locally on Service Electric 2 Sports and online through the Patriot League Network.

Last Saturday's game in Boston saw the Terriers score first, but the Mountain Hawks answered with the next three goals and five of the next six to take a 5-2 halftime lead. Boston University began the third quarter on a 4-0 run, but senior Reid Weber scored consecutive goals, with six seconds remaining in the third quarter and just 1:45 into the fourth, to take a 7-6 lead. The Terriers pulled even with 5:03 remaining, but senior Chris Appell scored his first goal of the season in transition with 2:28 on the clock, which proved to be the game-winner.

Weber led the offense with three goals for his 17th career hat trick while junior Ian Strain set career highs in assists (2) and caused turnovers (3). Five other Mountain Hawks scored a goal, including freshman Tristan Rai who scored Lehigh's first goal of the afternoon, tallying a point for the 10th time in as many games. The Lehigh offense scored eight goals despite just 19 shots, using an efficient attack for the victory.

The Mountain Hawks' defense was the story on Saturday, allowing just seven goals despite winning just 5-of-19 faceoffs. Lehigh helped negate that advantage by causing 14 of Boston University's 18 turnovers. Strain and senior Tripp Telesco each caused three turnovers while senior Ray Mastroianni and freshman Craig Chick each had four groundballs and two caused turnovers. Telesco tallied three groundballs while classmate Casey Eidenshink had three groundballs and a caused turnover. Freshman Chris Kiernan was also strong in goal, stopping three-of-four shots in the first quarter and finishing with nine saves.

Sophomore faceoff specialist Matt Ernst returned from injury and enjoyed some strong stretches, winning a first-quarter draw and drawing a Boston University penalty which led to a Lehigh extra-man goal. He also won 2-of-4 fourth-quarter faceoffs. Ernst was facing a strong opponent in Boston University's Sam Talkow, who had won 69 percent on the season coming in.

Lehigh improved to 3-0 all-time against Boston University, earning its second straight one-goal victory over the Terriers. Boston University was ranked 20th in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll, marking Lehigh's first win over a ranked squad since winning at No. 18/14 Stony Brook last April. The Mountain Hawks beat ranked teams Princeton and Stony Brook within a one-week span. Each of Lehigh's last three wins over ranked opponents have come by one goal.

Lehigh will search for its first-ever win over Loyola on Saturday. Last season, the Mountain Hawks three-goal defeat was their closest-ever game against the Greyhounds. The score was tied at eight, but Loyola scored the game's final three goals for the 11-8 final. Saturday will mark Lehigh's first game in Goodman Stadium since Apr. 6, 2013, a 13-10 win over Colgate.

Loyola is 7-3 on the season, beginning the year with big wins over Virginia and Johns Hopkins. The Greyhounds' first loss came to Towson while also falling to Duke and Navy. Loyola has responded from the Navy loss with three straight wins, at Georgetown (10-7), vs. Bucknell (14-3) and at Colgate (12-4). Freshman Pat Spencer has enjoyed a sensational rookie campaign, owning 42 points behind 18 goals and 24 assists. Brian Sherlock has recorded 22 points (13 goals, nine assists), Zack Sirico has 18 (10 goals, eight assists) and Zach Herreweyers owns 16 (11 goals, five points). Spencer also leads the team with 26 groundballs while Foster Huggins has a team-leading 13 caused turnovers while Jack Carrigan owns 12, to go with 23 groundballs. Two Loyola players have started in goal this season as Grant Limone has tallied a 9.26 GAA and .491 save percentage in eight games (seven starts). Freshman Jacob Stover has started the last three contests and owns a 4.76 GAA and .673 save percentage on the year.

Loyola leads the all-time series, 10-0 with three of those meetings coming since the Greyhounds joined the Patriot League in 2014. Last season, Loyola earned an 11-8 win. Lehigh came back to pull even at eight, but the Greyhounds ended the game on a 3-0 run. The teams met in the 2014 Patriot League Championship Game at Loyola, the second meeting of the season after not playing since 1998. The sides first met in 1942, a 12-1 Loyola victory.

Following Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks head to Princeton on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. matchup before returning home next Saturday (Apr. 16) to welcome Cornell. Opening faceoff is set for 2:30 p.m. in Goodman Stadium.
