Lehigh sits in a tie for third place in the Patriot League standings with a 7-9 mark against league foes. Bucknell is tied with Lehigh at 7-9, but the Bison would hold a tiebreaker over the Mountain Hawks due to their 3-1 series win earlier this season. The Mountain Hawks are one game ahead of Lafayette (6-10) and two ahead of Army (5-11). Navy (12-4) and Holy Cross (11-5) have already clinched the top two seeds in the four-team Patriot League Tournament and will be battling for the top overall seed will be decided with this weekend's results. Lafayette visits Holy Cross and Navy travels to Bucknell in the other two league series this weekend.

The Mountain Hawks were able to catapult themselves back into postseason contention with a four-game sweep of rival Lafayette last weekend. Senior Mike Garzillo hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning of the series opener to lead Lehigh to a 4-3 victory before the Mountain Hawks bats and a quality start from sophomore Peter Moore helped Lehigh capture a 10-4 win in Saturday's nightcap. Lehigh rode strong starts from sophomores Sam Ashey and Mark Washington and clutch saves from seniors Kevin Boswick and Brandon Kulp as the Mountain Hawks picked up 5-2 and 6-3 victories Sunday. Junior Patrick Donnelly was named the Patriot League Player of the Week for his efforts in helping Lehigh to the sweep as he went 6-for-17 at the plate with a home run, two doubles, seven RBI and three runs scored in the four rivalry victories. The Mountain Hawks were able to pick up their fifth-straight victory with a 16-5 win at NYIT Wednesday in the team's most recent action.

Junior Jacen Nalesnik leads Lehigh's balanced offensive attack with a .322 batting average and is followed by Garzillo (.313), junior John Scarr (.313), junior David Young (.310) and Donnelly (.303). Garzillo leads the Patriot League in both slugging percentage (.536) and runs scored (43), while Donnelly has recorded a league-best 43 RBI. Garzillo has hit .357 against league opponents, while Young (.346) and sophomore James Bleming (.305) follow. Lehigh turned to senior Kevin Long, Moore, Ashey and Washington as its four starting pitchers in last weekend's four-game sweep of Lafayette. Washington leads the team with a 4-1 record and a season-long 2.37 ERA. Ashey and Moore have also earned four wins this season. Long has struck out a team-best 35 batters. Boswick has picked up two wins and a save in Patriot League play to lead the Lehigh bullpen.

Army enters this weekend's series with a 15-28 overall record and 5-11 league mark. The Black Knights will need to take at least two games from Lehigh to have a shot at making the Patriot League Tournament. Army opened league play in early April with a 3-1 series loss to Lafayette before splitting 2-2 series with Bucknell and Lafayette. First-place Navy swept a four-game series over Army last weekend as the Black Knights fell 3-2 and 6-2 in Saturday's doubleheader before the Mids completed the sweep with 7-3 and 3-1 wins in Sunday's action. Lehigh and Army will be meeting for the first time since the 2015 season's league opening series. The March 28-29, 2015 series was played at Bucknell and the Black Knights were able to take three of the four games. Army earned 5-0 and 7-2 wins on Saturday.
