BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh baseball team heads to Winter Haven, Fla. this week to begin a five-day spring break trip at the RussMatt Invitational. The Mountain Hawks will play six games during the trip and face Bradley, Maine, Dartmouth and UMass. Lehigh opens action Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. against Bradley before facing Maine at 3 p.m. Free audio coverage of all of Lehigh's Spring Break games will be available here.

The Mountain Hawks carry a 3-8 record into their visit to the Sunshine State. Lehigh opened its season with a three-game sweep of Norfolk State before falling to Marshall, Villanova and Fairleigh Dickinson. Lehigh has been led offensively by a trio of juniors who are hitting above .300 in Patrick Donnelly (.378), Connor Donovan (.333) and David Young (.311). Donnelly has recorded a team-best seven RBI, while senior Mike Garzillo leads the squad with 10 runs scored. Freshman Ethan Frohman holds a team-best 1.00 ERA and is coming off a strong performance against FDU in which he hurled 5.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Seniors Kevin Long and Kevin Boswick have both fanned a squad-best 12 batters, while sophomore relievers Peter Moore, Mark Washington and Sam Ashey have picked up wins on the mound.

Lehigh opens the RussMatt Invitational Wednesday against Bradley at 11:15 a.m. The Braves, members of the Missouri Valley Conference, earned an at-large bid to last year's NCAA Tournament and were the No. 2 seed in the Louisville Regional. Bradley is 7-6 this season and coming off a three-game sweep of fellow Patriot League team Bucknell. Tyler Leffler leads the Braves with a .339 batting average and 10 RBI, while Andy Shadid has also tallied a 10 RBI and a team-best nine runs scored. Matt Dennis has secured three wins on the mound for the Braves this season while fanning 28 batters. Eric Scheuermann leads the team with a 1.12 ERA, two saves and a win in eight appearances out of the Bradley bullpen. Lehigh and Bradley met twice in 1998 with each team earning a win.

The Mountain Hawks will then face Maine at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Black Bears are 4-11 this season and will face Bucknell at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday before taking on Lehigh Wednesday afternoon. Maine's four wins have come against Clemson (4-3), New Mexico State (3-1, 13-3) and Long Island (3-2). Danny Casals and Kevin Stypulkowski lead the Black Bears with .327 batting averages, while Colin Ridley has knocked in a team-best 11 runs. Justin Courtney leads the pitching staff with a 1.00 ERA in three starts on the bump, while John Arel has recorded a team-best 20 strikeouts and Logan Fullmer has secured three saves. Lehigh is 2-4 all-time against Maine and the Black Bears won the most recent meeting 11-4 in 2014.

Following a day off from game action Thursday, Lehigh will return to the diamond with a three-game set against Ivy League foe Dartmouth. The Mountain Hawks and Big Green will square off in a 2 p.m. doubleheader Friday before wrapping up the series Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Spring Break finale. Dartmouth is 0-6 on the season and will take on Bucknell and Bradley before facing Lehigh. The Big Green dropped games to Iowa (4-1), Villanova (14-1) and Indiana State (3-0) in the team's opening weekend before falling at top-ranked Florida in a three-game set March 4-6. Dartmouth has been limited to a .187 team batting average, but is led by Kyle Holbrook's .300 average and Michael Ketchmark's three RBI. Michael Danielak holds a team-best 1.42 ERA, while Duncan Robinson has struck out a squad-high nine batters. Robinson (0-2, 8.00 ERA), Clay Chatham (0-2, 8.59 ERA) and Jackson Bubala (0-1, 9.82 ERA) have started all six of Dartmouth's games on the mound. The Mountain Hawks are 2-3 all-time against Dartmouth, but the two teams haven't met since 1989.

Sandwiched in between the three-game series against Dartmouth will be a single game against UMass Saturday at 11 a.m. The Minutemen are 1-5 and will face Harvard and Maine before taking on Lehigh Saturday. UMass dropped a three-game series at Charleston Southern to open the season before going 1-2 against fellow Patriot League team Army last weekend. Four Minutemen are hitting above .300 so far this season, led by Mike Hart's .364 batting average. John Jennings and Vinny Scifo have both tallied a team-best five RBI. Ryan Maloney (0-2, 2.08 ERA), Tim Cassidy (0-2, 9.00 ERA) and Justin Lasko (1-0, 10.12) have earned starts for the Minutemen this season, while Evan Mackintosh has secured a save. Saturday's game will be the first-ever meeting between the Mountain Hawks and UMass.

Lehigh wraps up its Spring Break trip with the final game against Dartmouth at 2:30 p.m. Sunday before heading home to Bethlehem.

Following the RussMatt Invitational, Lehigh will play its next three games at Legacy Park as the Mountain Hawks host NYIT (March 22), Penn (March 23) and Manhattan (March 25).
