Grundhoffer Earns Two Weekly Honors

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After averaging 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists in two games last week, Lehigh freshman forward Gena Grundhoffer has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday. She is the first Lehigh player to earn a weekly award from the Patriot League this season.

In addition, Grundhoffer has also been recognized by College Sports Madness as it's Player of the Week for the Patriot League.

Grundhoffer is coming off a career game in Saturday's 68-62 win over Sacred Heart where she registered career-highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. She previously scored 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting in Wednesday's win over Delaware State. Overall, she shot 50 percent (11-for-22) on the week and was 1-for-2 from three-point range.

For the season, Grundhoffer leads all Patriot League freshman with 12.5 points per game, good enough for 10th overall and ranks second with a free throw percentage of 90 percent (18-for-20). Her 7.3 rebounds per game lead the Mountain Hawks and rank ninth in the league.

Lehigh's next game will take place at 4 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon at Mount St. Mary's.
