Avery garners another Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women's track and field sophomore Courtney Avery has been named the Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week for the third time during the outdoor season, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Avery set a new school record with the winning high jump at the Lehigh-Lafayette outdoor dual meet last Monday. Her 1.77 meter leap bested her own school record of 1.76 meters. The jump easily tops the ECAC-qualifying standard of 1.70 meters and ranks 15th in the NCAA East Region. Avery also earned first place in the high jump at Moravian's Coach Pollard Invite Saturday with a leap of 1.69 meters.

This is Avery's third Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week award in the last four weeks. She also won a pair of awards during the indoor season.

Avery and the Mountain Hawks return to action Saturday at Moravian's Greyhound Invite and Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational.
