BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's and women's track and field teams will host archrival Lafayette in the annual Lehigh-Lafayette indoor dual meet Saturday inside Rauch Fieldhouse. Field events will get underway at 2 p.m. and track events will begin at 3:30 p.m. The Lehigh women will be looking to claim their seventh straight dual meet title over the Leopards, while the men look to gain their second consecutive indoor victory against Lafayette.

"The rivalry is very important to us and it's always nice to say that you beat Lafayette," said head coach Matt Utesch. "I'm excited because we always get great marks out of this meet. While it's important, it's not our end game and I think this meet is a good launching point for the rest of the season."

Both teams are coming off strong performances in last weekend's Angry Birds Invitational meet where the women claimed second place and the men finished third. The Lehigh women turned out three first-place finishes, led by sophomore Courtney Avery who finished first in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying leap of 1.70 meters and was named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week. Sophomore Kiana Wright claimed the long jump title with a 5.34 meter leap and junior Arielle Weiner claimed the 5,000 meter run title after crossing the finish line in a time of 18:50.47. On the men's side, senior Adeolu Adesida picked up another high jump title with an IC4A-qualifying 2.15 meter leap to earn his second Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week honor of the season.  Classmate Derek Gaul won the long jump with a 6.97 meter jump.

The Lehigh women won 12 of 17 events, and set three new school records, en route to a 102-79 win in last season's Lehigh-Lafayette indoor dual meet. The Leopards hold an 8-15-1 advantage over the Mountain Hawk women in the all-time series.

The Mountain Hawk men won 13 of 17 events in last year's dual meet to rout the Leopards, 111.50-69.50. Lafayette controls a 10-14 advantage over the Lehigh men in the all-time series.

Following Saturday's dual meet, the Mountain Hawks will split their squads next weekend between the Armory Invitational in New York City and the John Covert Classic inside Rauch Fieldhouse.
