
Abrams, Mountain Hawks finish third at Tuxedo Autumn Invitational

Final Results
TUXEDO PARK, N.Y. – Powered by a third place finish from junior Harley Abrams, the Lehigh men's golf team finished third out of nine teams at the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational, which wrapped up Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks were at least consistent, following up rounds of 307 and 308 Friday with a 309 Saturday to finish at 924.

Host Columbia rolled to the team title at 905 (304-300-301), eight shots better than second place Hofstra. The Mountain Hawks enjoyed the best finish of the three Patriot League schools in the field, edging rival Lafayette by two strokes and Bucknell by 17.

Abrams shot four over par 75 on Saturday to finish at eight over par 221 (74-72-75). He finished three strokes behind medalist Brandon Jowers of Columbia at 218 (70-72-76).

Lehigh seniors Zach Allinson and Carlos Kim both tied for 18th place at 232. Allinson finished with a 74 on Saturday, while Kim started fast in Friday's first round with a 73, but shot 81 in Saturday's final round.

Also competing for the Mountain Hawks were freshman Billy Johns, who tied for 36th at 241 (82-80-79); and junior Johnny Heydt who finished at 243 (84-78-81) to place 39.

Senior Jack Russell competed as an individual and tied for 29th place at 237 (77-82-78) as the early season squad addition played his first competitive college tournament.

Next up for the Mountain Hawks are the annual Presidents Cup matches against Lafayette, October 14 in Gladstone, N.J. Lehigh will also host its fall invitational October 18-19 at Saucon Valley CC.
