Sukonik earns third straight Jewish Sports Review First Team All-America honor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - For the third time in as many seniors, Lehigh rising senior Carli Sukonik has been named a first team All-American by the Jewish Sports Review. Sukonik is one of three Patriot Leaguers honored while student-athletes like Stanford, James Madison, Harvard and Albany also make up the first team.
Sukonik finished her junior season with 37 points (second on the team) behind a team-leading 32 goals and five assists. A three-time All-Patriot League honoree, she will enter her senior campaign with 98 goals and 14 assists. Sukonik recorded 10 multi-goal games and five hat tricks on the season, including three goals and one assist at Boston University as the Mountain Hawks handed the Terriers their first-ever Patriot League defeat. That earned Sukonik Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors. Other big games included a season-high four goals at New Hampshire and vs. California.

The Mountain Hawks finished 4-4 in league play this past season and advanced to its first Patriot League Tournament since 2011. The team also defeated Boston University 12-11 in double overtime to hand the Terriers their first-ever Patriot League loss. Five Mountain Hawks earned All-Patriot League recognition with four returning in 2015.
