BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The red-hot Lehigh volleyball team returns to action this weekend as the Mountain Hawks host Bucknell Friday at 7 p.m. inside Leeman-Turner Arena at Grace Hall before traveling to Colgate Saturday at 4 p.m. Lehigh is off to a 5-0 start in Patriot League play for the first time in program history and currently sits atop the league standings. Both matches can be viewed free of charge on the Patriot League Network.

Lehigh enters Friday's match on a five-game winning streak and the Mountain Hawks have won seven of their last eight games, including four-consecutive straight-set matches. Lehigh picked up a pair of road victories at Loyola and Navy last weekend to secure the team's first-ever 5-0 start in league play. The Mountain Hawks head into this weekend's matches with a 10-7 overall record.

Lehigh leads the Patriot League in a number of statistical categories including opponent hitting percentage (.147), assists (11.91/set), kills (12.91/set) and digs (17.45/set).  The Mountain Hawks' 17.45 digs per set mark also ranks ninth in all of Division I. Sophomore Mariah Brantley's individual clip of 5.48 digs per set is ninth-best in the nation. Reigning Patriot League Player of the Week junior Amy Matula averages a league-best 9.67 assists per set. Junior Claire Bradshaw is tied for the league lead in service aces per set with a mark of 0.44.

Freshman Kelly Bennett leads the team with 35 total blocks, while sophomore Taylor Carroll has registered 34.

Bucknell carries a 2-10 overall record into Friday's match, including a 1-3 mark in Patriot League play. The Bison are coming off a close 3-2 loss at Navy last Saturday and have also dropped matches at American (3-0) and at home against Army (3-1). Bucknell's only league win was a 3-1 victory over Holy Cross on Sept. 20.

Following Friday's contest, Lehigh makes the trip to Hamilton, N.Y. to face Colgate at 4 p.m. The Raiders are 6-6 overall and 0-2 in the Patriot League after road losses to Holy Cross and Army.  Colgate lost a five-set battle to the Crusaders before being swept by the Black Knights. The Raiders host Navy Friday night before Saturday's match against Lehigh.

It marked Lehigh's first-ever straight-set victory against Colgate. The Raiders lead the all-time series 35-15.

Following this weekend's matches, the Mountain Hawks return home to host Fordham in a non-league contest Tuesday at 7 p.m. before traveling to defending Patriot League champion American on Friday Oct. 10.
