Lehigh Sweeps Morgan State, Ends Steel Classic 3-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh closed out the Steel Classic with another 3-0 sweep Saturday afternoon, defeating Morgan State 25-18, 25-17 and 25-18 to finish the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record. The Mountain Hawks hit .333 as a team, recording 35 kills, six service aces and 15 total blocks.

Mary Massias was named the Steel Classic Most Valuable Player, while Alysia Fingall earned All-Tournament Team honors. Massias recorded seven kills and a career-high seven digs, along with one solo block and two block assists. She led the Mountain Hawks with 23 kills throughout the tournament. Fingall added eight kills, one service ace, two solo blocks and one block assist against Morgan State while reaching 500 career kills in the win.

Grace Slovensky helped lead Lehigh's balanced attack with 11 assists against Morgan State, while Sophia Bond added eight digs to give her 32 digs across the tournament.

Set 1 Lehigh (25-18)
Lehigh opened the match with an 11 kill set, hitting .333 in the first set. Fingall led the attack with four kills, while Massias added three.

Set 2 Lehigh (25-17)
The Mountain Hawks continued to control the match, taking the second set 25-17. Lehigh recorded 11 kills while hitting .292, with Alysia Fingall and Natalie Luscomb each contributing three kills.

Set 3 Lehigh (25-18)
Lehigh closed out the sweep with its strongest offensive set, hitting .370 with 13 kills. Massias led the way with three kills, while Luscomb and Fingall each added two as the Mountain Hawks completed the 3-0 victory.

Next weekend, Lehigh will compete in the Delaware State Invitational. The Mountain Hawks will take on Quinnipiac Friday at 4 p.m., NJIT Saturday at noon and close out the tournament against Delaware State at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night.
