Lehigh lands 13 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Thirteen Lehigh women's cross country student-athletes earned spots on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced on Tuesday. The Mountain Hawks were one of four league schools to garner double-digit representation.
Junior Shannon Wright (Biology) and freshman Amanda Ruschel (Engineering) were two of 17 Patriot League student-athletes to earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average or higher. Freshman Anne Birkenmaier followed with her impressive 3.91 GPA in her business major.
Sophomore Jennifer Markham, a chemical engineering major who was named the Patriot League's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, landed on the list with her 3.72 GPA. Graduate student Rosie Roessel, a member of the Academic All-Patriot League team, tallied a 3.67 GPA in energy systems engineering.
Eight of the thirteen Lehigh athletes named to the honor roll landed on Dean's List with a GPA of 3.6 or higher. To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must maintain a 3.2 GPA and be listed on the team roster.
In total, 115 Patriot League women's cross country student-athletes were named to the sport's Academic Honor Roll for the fall semester.
