EASTON, Pa. – The Lehigh women's track and field team posted impressive numbers against Patriot League rival Lafayette on Saturday, but fell one point short in a 102-101 loss after 19 events were scored.

On the women's side, junior Jimil Ataman scored second in the hammer with a 57.33 meter heave. Senior E'Lana Lemon finished in right behind Ataman with a mark of 55.38 meters to give Lehigh a 13-9 lead overall following the event. The Brown and White took the top three spots in the 800 meter run, as seniors Julia Perry (2:15.97), Kathleen Ryan (2:16.12) and Brittany Pietrosh (2:16.62) had solid outings.

Junior Brooke Astor and freshman Gabrielle Wardle took the top two spots in the high jump. Astor and Perry were Lehigh's track athletes of the meet, while sophomore Serenah Polite was named the team's field athlete of the meet following her wins in the long jump (5.36 meters) and triple jump (11.59 meters).

“We put up some good numbers and we have to be happy with those performances,” Utesch said. “No one failed us today.”

The Mountain Hawks will compete at both the Pollard Invite at Moravian and Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pa. on Friday and Saturday respectively.
