Ataman earns weekly PL award after breaking school record

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior Jimil Ataman earned the Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week award following her record-breaking performance in the hammer throw at Saturday's Winthrop Invite.
Ataman exceeded the ECAC-qualifying standard with a throw of 55.75 meters to set the top mark in the Patriot League this season and a new Lehigh record. The Eagle, Idaho native competed against athletes from 12 other schools, including Gardner-Webb, UNC-Wilmington, and host Winthrop. Junior Ryan Paquin earned honorable mention from the league for winning the decathlon at the Winthrop Invite. He finished the event with 6,259 points.
The Mountain Hawks will compete at Lafayette in a dual meet scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Easton, Pa.
