Mountain Hawks fall 5-2 at Colgate on Sunday

VERONA, N.Y. – Junior Jenai Bilimoria and sophomore Abby Farrell were winners in both doubles and singles action, but the Lehigh women's tennis team fell to Colgate 5-2 Sunday at Turning Stone. The Mountain Hawks lost the doubles point in a tiebreak and could only muster two singles wins, as they fall to 4-11 overall and 1-2 in league matches.

Colgate improves to 10-5 overall and the Raiders are 2-3 in league play.

Bilimoria and Farrell won 8-5 over Kelsey Shea and Merideth Rock at the top doubles flight, but the doubles point came down to a match at No. 2 doubles, where junior Taylor Hampshire and freshman Ali Kaminetsky lost in a tiebreak to Alex Petrini and Lexi Lazares 7-5 to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.

Lehigh captured the top two singles flights with Bilimoria downing Shea in straight sets 6-0, 7-6. Bilimoria won the second set tiebreak 10-8 to clinch the match. Farrell posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Petrini at No. 2 singles for the Mountain Hawks' second point, but Colgate won the bottom four singles flights in straight sets to win the match.

The Mountain Hawks will have a short turnaround as they will return to action on Tuesday afternoon at rival Lafayette. First serves are set for 3 p.m.
