EASTON, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team shot a final round score of 294 to capture the team title at the 11th annual Lafayette Invitational, which wrapped-up Monday at Northampton Country Club. After entering the day in second place, the Mountain Hawks finished with a 36-hole team score of 303-294-597 to win by seven strokes over second place Drexel.

The team title is the second of the 2012-13 academic year for the Mountain Hawks, who also won the Bucknell Invitational in September. Prior to that September win, Lehigh had not won a tournament since 2009.

Lehigh's Monday score of 294 was second-lowest of the day in the 18-team field. Drexel finished second at 307-297-604 while Iona finished third at 312-293-605.

Sunday's first day of play saw all five Mountain Hawks score within a stroke of 76. Freshman Harley Abrams shot the high round for Lehigh with a 77 on Sunday, but came back to shoot the low round of the tournament at three under par 69 to tie for fourth at 77-69-146.

Abrams was one of three Mountain Hawks to finish in the top ten overall. He was joined by junior Alex DiClemente, who tied for sixth at 76-71-147 and sophomore Carlos Kim, who shot 75-75-149 and tied for tenth.

Also competing for Lehigh were junior Andrew Arnold, who shot 76-80-156 to tie for 33rd and senior Sean Keller, who shot 76-82-158 and finished in a tie for 43rd.

In addition, sophomore Zach Allinson and freshman Jonathan Heydt competed as individuals, with Allinson tying for 70th place at 86-76-162 and Heydt tying for 77th, two shots behind at 85-79-164.

Drexel's Christopher Crawford earned individual medalist honors, carding a one under par 143 (72-71) to post a one stroke victory over Monte Mullen of Central Connecticut State.

The Mountain Hawks will play a dual match against rival Lafayette April 16 at Saucon Valley Country Club, before heading to Annapolis, Maryland to play in the Navy Invitational April 20-21.
