Bilimoria, Bruch earn singles wins as Lehigh falls to Bucknell

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In its final Patriot League match of the regular season, the Lehigh women's tennis team fell to Bucknell by a 5-2 score Tuesday afternoon on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. Junior Jenai Bilimoria and sophomore Emily Bruch posted singles wins for the Mountain Hawks, who fall to 5-14 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League.
Bucknell (8-11, 3-2 PL) won two of the three doubles matches and took four singles matches to post the victory.
In doubles play Lehigh's No. 3 team of junior Jill Sloand and freshman Marian Prim won 8-5 over Elizabeth Morgan and Jen Bush, but the visiting Bison captured the top two flights to take an early 1-0 lead in the match.
The Bison extended their lead as Stephanie Pino won 6-1, 6-0 over Prim at No. 6 singles, before Bilimoria put Lehigh on the board with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Elena Vidrascu at No. 1 singles.
Bucknell then clinched the match with wins at the No. 3 and No. 2 flights. Lydia Colvin won 6-4, 7-6 over freshman Ali Kaminetsky to put the Bison up 3-1 and Maria Cioffi clinched the match with a three-set win over sophomore Abby Farrell.
Bruch closed out the match by winning a second set tiebreak 9-7 over Bush at No. 4 singles, to take the match in straight sets.
Seeding for the upcoming Patriot League women's tournament is not yet official, but the Mountain Hawks are likely to be the No. 5 seed.
Lehigh will close out the regular season on Friday when the Mountain Hawks host Rider at 4 p.m. The Patriot League Tournament will take place April 26-28 at West Point, N.Y.
