Lehigh wins doubles point but falls 6-1 to Navy

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's tennis team won the doubles point from a tough Navy squad but the visiting Midshipmen dominated singles play to rally for a 6-1 win over the Mountain Hawks Sunday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The Mountain Hawks posted two doubles wins, but Navy swept through six singles matches, winning all six in straight sets.
The loss drops Lehigh to 5-14 overall and 2-4 in the Patriot League, while Navy, the likely No. 2 seed in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament, improves to 22-4 and 4-1 in league matches.
Navy posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles but Lehigh won by identical 8-5 scores at the No. 1 and No. 3 flights to earn the first point of 
the match. At No. 1 doubles, junior Jenai Bilimoria and sophomore Abby Farrell defeated Erin Snook and Noelle Kaufman, while Lehigh's No. 3 team of junior Jill Sloand and freshman Marian Prim won against Darien Sears and Logan Antill.

Navy players lost three or fewer games at No. 2 singles, where Snook beat Farrell 6-1, 6-0; No. 5 singles where Stefanie Ton beat sophomore Molly Brooks 6-3, 6-0; and at No. 6 singles where Katie Porter won 6-2, 6-0 over Prim.
Bilimoria had the most competitive match, taking six games from Emani Decquir at No. 1 singles before bowing 6-4, 6-3.
Lehigh will play its final Patriot League match of the regular season on Tuesday when Bucknell visits the Ulrich Varsity Courts for a 3 p.m. tilt.
