Lehigh falls at #7 Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-3 final at #7 Penn State on Wednesday night. The Mountain Hawks got goals from freshmen Kendall Garden and Nicole Isdander, along with junior Julie Tatios. Lehigh will return home on Sunday to face Howard for its final home game of the season before heading to Holy Cross next Friday (Apr. 19).
Penn State jumped on Lehigh early, taking an 8-1 lead at the half. After the Nittany Lions went up 4-0, Garden got the Mountain Hawks on the scoreboard with 20:26 on the clock.
The Nittany Lions eventually extended their lead to 14-1 in the second half, but Lehigh answered with two of the next three - from Isdaner and Tatios - before Penn State rounded out the scoring for the 16-3 final.
Penn State held a 31-12 edge in shots, 17-13 in groundballs and 13-8 in draw controls. Junior Alexandra Fitzpatrick made six saves over the first 51:49 before senior MaryLeah DiNisco came in to make one. A pair of Nittany Lion goalies combined for six saves.
The Mountain Hawks will return home on Sunday to host Howard at 3 p.m. on Senior Day. DiNisco, Julie McBrien and Anna Patterson will be recognized prior to opening draw for their time with the Brown and White.
