Telesco earns second straight Rookie of the Week award

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh men's lacrosse defenseman Tripp Telesco has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for a second consecutive week following the Mountain Hawks' 12-7 win over Navy. Telesco posted a career high in groundballs (5) and caused turnovers (3) as the Lehigh defense held the Midshipmen to just seven goals and just four over the first 50:25.
Telesco and the Lehigh defense held an opponent to seven goals or fewer for a fourth straight game. The Mountain Hawks held Navy scoreless for long stretches of 15:47, (bridging the first and second quarters) and 21:00 (bridging the second and third quarters). Telesco owns 21 groundballs and nine caused turnovers for the season.
Garnering honorable mention on the Patriot League Weekly honor roll was sophomore Dan Taylor, who posted his third-career hat trick while adding an assist to lead the offense.
Lehigh's win over Navy improved it to 7-4 on the season and 3-0 in Patriot League play. The Mountain Hawks sit 18th in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Top 20 Media Poll and 19th in the USILA Coaches Poll released Monday.
The Mountain Hawks return to action Saturday when they host Colgate at Goodman Stadium on CBS Sports Network in a rematch of the 2012 Patriot League Championship Game.
