BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A trio of Lehigh women's lacrosse players were named All-Patriot League performers, as announced by the league on Tuesday. Senior Leigh Ann Torcivia garnered First Team honors while junior Julie McBrien and freshman Carli Sukonik earned Second Team laurels. The three were among the team leaders in nearly every statistical category, including goals, assists, draw controls, groundballs and more.
Torcivia wrapped up a stellar career with her fourth straight All-Patriot League honor. After earning a spot on the Second Team as a freshman, she has garnered First Team laurels as a sophomore, junior and now senior. The league's preseason Defensive Player of the Year, Torcivia shifted to midfield in 2012 where she thrived. The senior captain finished the season with 44 points via 24 goals and a team-leading 20 assists while also posting 36 groundballs, 37 draw controls and 18 caused turnovers. Torcivia has won five-career Patriot League weekly awards, including two this season (Defensive and Midfield Player of the Week).

McBrien impressed at the midfield as well, earning her second-career All-League honor after being named to the Second Team as a freshman. The junior captain scored 24 goals and added 12 assists, good for second on the team in both categories; her 36 points stood third. McBrien added 18 groundballs, 27 draw controls and 15 caused turnovers, earning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors on Mar. 3.

Meanwhile, Sukonik earned All-League honors after leading the team with 41 goals, 47 points and 47 draw controls. Sukonik broke out for eight points on two occasions, including a career-high eight goals vs. Binghamton while later adding seven goals and an assist at American. Sukonik finished the season with a pair of Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors. She owns seven-career hat tricks and 10 multi-goal games heading into her sophomore campaign.

The Mountain Hawks finished the season with a 7-9 record, 2-4 in Patriot League play. An extremely young team will return 19 of 22 players on the roster, including nine freshmen who played key roles as the season progressed.
