BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh incoming freshman attacker Carli Sukonik will suit up for Team Liberty in the Champion All-American Showcase, which begins this weekend. The showcase is held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Fla. Opening ceremonies are on Saturday while the championship game is set for Tuesday (July 19) and will stream live on ESPN3.com.
“This is a terrific opportunity for Carli to gain competitive experience with many soon to be rising stars on the college level,” said Lehigh head coach Jill Redfern.
Sukonik is the only Patriot League bound student-athlete invited to compete. Competition begins on Sunday with a four-team round robin. Eighty players from 25 states have been selected to four teams that will compete in three pool-play games before championship and consolation games on Tuesday, July 19.
A four-time offensive MVP at Harriton High School, Sukonik finished her career with over 300 career goals. She began her career by earning First Team All-Del Val League as a freshman and went on to set six school records during her time at Harriton.
