BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh baseball team (9-8) will play NJIT in a four-game series with a double header on Saturday at the Goodman campus and then will follow up with another double header at NJIT on Sunday. The first game on Saturday is scheduled for noon followed by the second game 30 minutes after.
Lehigh split a four game series with Iona last weekend, winning the first two and dropping the last two. The series opened with a walk-off doulbe from Brendan McGaheran in last Friday's win over Ioana. This success continued into the second game last Saturday with a 6-3 victory behind Austin Borden and Casey Turner as they picked up three hits each. Brendan Pifer also had a nice game, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Lehigh dropped a double header to Iona after taking the first two games with a heartbreaking extra innings loss in the first game and the second game was back and forth resulting in an 11-9 loss.
In the Iona series, Brendan McGaheran and Austin Borden lead the way each with six hits. Cory Kent and Thomas O'Malley earned the two respective victories in relief as Jayme Edwards and Colin Gotzin both had solid outings as the starters. Billy Goldman had another strong series for the Mountain Hawks and is now batting .345 with 17 hits and 7 RBIs on the season.

Against NJIT, the Mountain Hawks will continue to look to seniors Brendan McGaheran, Brendan Pifer and Andy Russell for an offensive force. Through 17 games, the trio has totaled 55 hits, 35 runs and 25 RBIs.
The Highlanders go into this weekend's series with a 2-8 record and a five game losing streak. The Mountain Hawks will next be in action when they take on St. Joseph's at home on Tuesday.
