Inside Lacrosse NCAA Preview 2011: No. 36 Lehigh

The Mountain Hawks finished 2010 with an 8-7 overall mark and were 2-4 in the Patriot League. But those numbers hide a few things brewing here at Lehigh — and that's a young team that got stronger as the season progressed and was probably playing its best lacrosse the last month of the year.
In fact, the Mountain Hawks closed 2010 by winning five of their last seven games — three came in overtime — and also included victories over nationally ranked Villanova and Lafayette. Lehigh coach Kevin Cassese is counting on that strong finish to propel the Mountain Hawks this season.
“We had a young team that had to find their way last year, and once they did, we did well,” Cassese said. “We're coming off a tremendous fall and we're hoping to keep things rolling into the spring. The guys have a sense we can do some things this year. What's important is developing a big chip on our shoulders and I think our kids have developed that.”
