BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh placed nine student-athletes on the 2010 Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Academic Honor Roll, announced Thursday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks were led by senior Lindsey Smith and freshman Celia Belmonte who both posted a 4.0 grade point average during the spring semester. Smith majored in industrial engineering, while Belmonte is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Lehigh duo comprised one-third of the six Patriot League women’s lacrosse student-athletes who earned 4.0 GPAs in the spring.
To be eligible for the honor roll, a student-athlete must obtain at least a 3.2 GPA and be on the team roster during the spring semester.
Joining Smith and Belmonte on the honor roll were seniors Inneke Carmola and Kelsy Ferris, sophomores Morgan Miller and Leigh Ann Torcivia, and freshmen Julie McBrien, Anna Patterson, and Annalise Penikis.
A total of 100 women’s lacrosse student-athletes were named to the honor roll, led by Navy’s Mary Ruttum, who was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year in April.
