Lehigh receives votes in final Top-25 poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After making its third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, the Lehigh women’s basketball team received two votes in the final USA Today/ESPN Division I Top 25 Coaches’ Poll announced late Wednesday night. The Mountain Hawks won a league and program record 29 games this past season en route to earning a 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Lehigh has now received votes in the poll in six weeks throughout season, which included being ranked as high as No. 28 in the country on March 15.
Lehigh finished the 2009-10 season with a 29-4 overall record, which included tying the record for league wins in a season (13). The Brown and White defeated American 58-42 on March 13 to claim its second straight league title. The Mountain Hawks traveled to Ames, Iowa for the NCAA Tournament and took on the No. 4 seed Iowa State Cyclones. Despite falling to the Cyclones in the first round of the tournament, Lehigh completed one of the most successful campaigns in Patriot League history.
