BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women’s lacrosse team is back in action this Saturday as the Brown and White travels to Hamilton, N.Y. to take on Colgate.  The Mountain Hawks have their sights set on capturing the Patriot League regular season championship and with it the right to host the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.  Lehigh will accomplish both feats with a victory on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks have won three consecutive games, the last of which came last weekend when they downed Navy 15-7.  Colgate enters with the same winning streak, having earned their third consecutive victory last Saturday on the road against Bucknell.

Junior Lauren Dykstra continues to lead the Mountain Hawks in points (45 goals, seven assists), while six others have scored double-digit goals including Kelly Draper (33), Allison Thomas (32), Inneke Carmola (28), Megan Kelly (24), Lauren Murray (17), and Anna Patterson (12).  Dykstra, who is tied for the team lead in ground balls with 38, has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week in each of the last two weeks

Draper leads the team in assists with 15 while Thomas follows closely behind adding 14 of her own.  Sophomore Lehigh Ann Torcivia ties Dykstra for the most ground balls, and leads in draw controls with 34.  Torcivia (16) and Dykstra (12) have both caused double digit turnovers and in goal, freshman ML DiNisco boasts a goals against average of 8.23 and has stopped 79 shots in 598 minutes of action.  Senior Kelsy Ferris, the reigning Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week has stopped 45 shots in 308 minutes of action, including a season best 12 stops in Lehigh’s win over Albany on April 12.

Colgate was last seen in action on April 17 when the Raiders defeated Bucknell by a score of 18-12 on the road.  The Raiders offense is led by Megan Lawler with 71 points (31 goals, 40 assists).  Lawler recently broke the career school record for assists and currently has 82 during her time in Hamilton.  Colleen Bubnack leads the team in goals (33) with Courtney Miller following closely behind with 32.

Alex Kuntz is the team leader in ground balls with 37, and Miller leads the team in draw controls with 51.  In goal, Christina Roa has seen 907 minutes of action, and stopped 165 shots, while earning a .490 save percentage.

Lehigh and Colgate will be meeting for the 28th time with the Raiders holding an 18-10 lead.  The Mountain Hawks last win in the series came last year with a 15-11 victory at home, and their last win in Hamilton came back in 1996.

The Mountain Hawks and Raiders will get things started at 5:00 Saturday evening from Tyler’s Field in Hamilton.
