BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh returns home looking to win its fifth straight game against Bucknell Wednesday night at 7:05 inside Stabler Arena. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a strong defensive effort against their archrivals where they defeated Lafayette 66-51 on Saturday afternoon. The Brown and White’s defense held the Leopards to 39 percent shooting and forced 27 turnovers. Courtney Dentler came off the bench and contributed 13 points which included hitting all nine of her free throws. Bucknell has won two straight which includes a 55-42 win over Lafayette on January 20, and it followed that up with a 60-47 victory over Colgate on January 23. The Bison feature two of the league’s top rebounders in Cosima Higham (7.8) and Joyce Novacek (7.6).
Lehigh’s scoring is slightly down during league play, but its defense isn’t as the Mountain Hawks lead the league in scoring defense (52.2) and field goal percentage defense (.356). The Mountain Hawks are also leading the way in blocked shots with 5.2 per game and thefts (8.4).
Tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Stabler Arena on the Goodman Campus. Tickets are available in advance by calling 610-7LU-GAME or online at Lehighsports.com, and on game day at the Stabler Arena box office 60 minutes prior to tipoff.
