Brown and White hit the road to face Bryant

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh will look to make it four in a row as it heads out on the road to take on the Bryant Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. in the Chace Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a strong defensive performance where they held NJIT to only 38 total points. The Brown and White went on to win the game 64-38 and forced the Highlanders to turn the ball over 23 times. The victory gave Lehigh 22 straight home wins which is the fourth longest streak in Division I. Bryant is heading into Sunday looking to snap its two-game losing streak after falling to Binghamton 75-59 and Long Island 73-54. Two of the Bulldogs’ three victories this season have come against Patriot League teams as they defeated Lafayette 56-47 and Colgate 82-74.
Senior Alex Ross only drained two three-pointers against the Highlanders, but that was all she needed to become Lehigh’s all-time career leader with 239. Ross passed Sara Ellis ’07 for first all-time and she will now set her sights on the Patriot League’s all-time lead.
The 38 points Lehigh allowed on Friday night was the fewest the Mountain Hawks gave up since defeating Colgate 51-39 on February 20, 2008.
Bryant is in its second year of competing at the Division I level. The Bulldogs are considered independent until they join the Northeast Conference in 2012-13.
Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon from Chace Athletic Center in Smithfield, R.I. The game will be broadcast live on WLVR-FM (91.3) and can also be heard live on Lehighsports.com with Jeff Tourial on the call.
