Oudin announces 2005 schedule

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Head coach Manny Oudin has announced the 2005 soccer schedule. The women’s soccer team is coming off the best season in university history with a 12-8 overall record along with a Patriot League championship game appearance in 2004. Coach Oudin is looking to continue his success at the helm of the women’s team, but will face a difficult schedule in 2005.

The first half of the Mountain Hawks schedule is loaded with tough out of conference teams starting with the Big East’s Villanova on September 2. The Wildcats are dangerous opponents who finished 2004 in the second round of the NCAA Women’s College Cup.

Lehigh will then play a pair of Atlantic 10 teams from Philadelphia in La Salle on September 7 and Saint Joseph’s on September 13. The Mountain Hawks finish off their non-conference schedule with two home contests. The first one comes against North Carolina State of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on September 16. On September 23, Lehigh hosts NCAA Women’s College Cup qualifier Binghamton.

The second half of Lehigh’s schedule consists solely of Patriot League opponents. The Mountain Hawks start their league schedule with archrival Lafayette on October 1. Lehigh has shut out the Leopards the last two seasons and is looking to continue that streak.

On October 7, Lehigh will look for revenge against Colgate, in a rematch of the 2004 Patriot League championship game which Lehigh lost 2-0. The Mountain Hawks close out their home schedule on October 23 against a very tough American team.

Women’s soccer begins their season on August 26 in the BAE Systems Classic at West Point, N.Y. versus Buffalo.
