Lehigh falls in league opener

Bethlehem, PA – After playing a scoreless first half, the Lehigh women’s soccer team was defeated by Army 2-0. The loss drops Lehigh to 3-7 overall, 0-1 in league play while Army improves to 8-1-1, 2-0 in league play.
For Lehigh, goalkeeper Erin Iwaskiewicz notched seven saves while Lauren Day managed two shots on goal.
Leigh Kosco scored the initial Black Knight goal in the 64th minute off a pass from Emily Biddick. With time winding down and Lehigh pushing for the tying goal, Army struck again as Delaney Brown scored on a pass from Sarah Domme.
"We tried to exploit some of Army's weaknesses," said head coach Manny Oudin. "We had three or four quality chances in the second half but didn't capitalize," added Oudin.
Lehigh returns to action Friday in Patriot League play at Lafayette. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
