Lehigh to wrap up dual season in Philadelphia

Lehigh will wrap up the dual season on Sunday afternoon with a pair of duals in
Lehigh has won 26 of its last 27 duals versus EIWA opponents, dating back to the start of the 2002-03 season. The only defeat was a 19-14 loss at Cornell on January 22, 2006. Mountain Hawks’ head coach Greg Strobel is 63-9 in duals versus EIWA schools.
Penn enters Sunday’s dual with a 10-4 record, including a 3-1 mark in EIWA duals. Last weekend, the Quakers lost to No. 14 Cornell 20-12 in a match that was closer than the score indicated, then rebounded to defeat Ivy foe
Drexel enters Sunday’s match in the midst of one of its most successful dual seasons in school history. The Dragons have already set a new school record with 19 dual wins this season and have won seven of ten duals against their counterparts in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Dragons do not have any ranked wrestlers, but have gotten solid performances from sophomore Ryan Hluschak (26-6) and junior Nick Kozar (26-3). Heavyweight Chris Cowen is the defending CAA Champion and Drexel’s only returning NCAA qualifier.
Lehigh leads the all-time series with both schools. The Lehigh-Penn series dates back to 1912. The Mountain Hawks have won 35 of 44 meetings all-time including the last three. These two schools have met each of the last ten seasons after not having wrestled between 1956 and 1996. LU is 6-4 vs. Penn under Greg Strobel. Lehigh has never lost to Drexel.
Sunday’s action gets underway at 2:00 when Lehigh takes on Penn, followed by the Mountain Hawks match at Drexel at 5:00. Both matches will be broadcast online at lehighsports.com. The Drexel match will also be broadcast locally on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 with coverage beginning 15 minutes prior to the match.
