Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh’s wrestling team will hit the mats for the first time on Tuesday during Wrestle-Offs at Grace Hall. The first match is set to begin at 7:00.
Fans can get their first look at the nation’s seventh ranked team in The Wrestling Mall Preseason Poll. The ranking is the highest of any team not a member of the Big 10 or Big 12 Conferences.
A talented group of newcomers, ranked as the 10th best class in the country by the Amateur Wrestling News, will also see their first action.
The Mountain Hawks feature a number of grapplers ranked in their weight classes. Highlighting that group is junior Jon Trenge. Trenge is ranked No. 1 at 197 after finishing second to Cael Sanderson at the NCAA Championships last season. Other ranked wrestlers for Lehigh include senior Tristan Boyd at 141, juniors Mario Stuart at 125 and Brad Dillon at 174, and freshmenTroy Letters at 165, Cory Cooperman at 133, Derek Zinck at 157 and Travis Frick at 184.
Tickets to the event can be purchased at the gate or by calling (610) 7LU-GAME and cost $5.00. Season ticket holders can pick up their tickets at the gate.
